Meresha – A Rising Star Enters the Dreamland

Luigicappel's Weblog

Meresha1Have you heard of Meresha yet? Let me introduce you. It seems like many years since I first heard Meresha sing, but given her age it can’t be that long ago. I feel like I’ve watched her grow up from a young bubbly teenager (with a mature musical spirit) to a powerful multifaceted musician, singer/songwriting woman, and that we are friends even though we’ve never met in person.

Meresha BillboardI knew instantly, seeing her perform (online) that she was going to be a superstar. She has a voice to die for, passion and personality that you can’t help but get swept up in, energy to burn that seems endless, a vision for what she wants and humility that keeps her grounded despite amazing successes on Billboard, MTV and many other platforms.

On June 12th she is launching her latest EP called ‘Enter The Dreamland’ and I’ve had the privilege of listening…

And the Food Fight Winners are….

Empire Kred

I, Sir Rudiger, have been busily pushing the beads around on my abacus while staring at SQRLthe moon and dodging Moon Pies. Why, you might ask? Because we were tabulating the results of our team competition!

Before I get to that, I must say that the energy was incredible and some of the taunting and cheering messages were great! I am still disappointed that there were no nuts thrown, as there’s really nothing I like better than snatching nuts out of the air!

Each member of the winning team received the rare custom achievement shown below. In addition, investment missions and other recognition will be heaped upon the victors. And of course they have absolute bragging rights, at least until the NEXT Great Food Fight!

We collected data in several categories… ranking acquisition of food items, how many thrown, how many received, and how many total achievements for members of…

New Mission Updates

Empire Kred

Contributed by Skip Bieber (e)skip7547  @skip7547

Great News!  Missions have been updated and some wonderful new features have been added.   Since no one else posted constructive information on the updates, I thought I’d take a crack at it.    Check back here often as I’ll be updating the blog as more and more features – (documented and undocumented) are discovered 🙂

There are several (six so far) major changes in this update include the additions of Private Missions;  Inverted Mission Awards; Mission restrictions by Join date; Network restrictions and a new missions at a glance toolbar.    Minor updates in this update  includes tighter restrictions on parameters such as Country, network and Interest.

Oh, and in case you didn’t notice, the mission comments have been moved down and now appear AFTER the other missions display box.

The first major change is the addition of Private Missions.  As I understand…

The ghosts of the Louvre (Paris)

Kamal Bennani Photography

The Louvre Palace is a former royal palace located on the Right Bank of the Seine in Paris, between the Tuileries Gardens and the church of Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois. Its origins date back to the medieval period, and its present structure has evolved in stages since the 16th century. It was the actual seat of power in France until Louis XIV moved to Versailles in 1682, bringing the government with him. The Louvre remained the nominal, or formal, seat of government until the end of the Ancien Régime in 1789. Since then it has housed the celebrated Musée du Louvre as well as various government departments.

The “Old Louvre”

The Old Louvre occupies the site of the 12th-century fortress of King Philip Augustus, also called the Louvre. Its foundations are viewable in the basement level as the “Medieval Louvre” department. This structure was razed in 1546 by King Francis I in…

Wear a Smile

Make It Your Problem

A smile can turn a conflict into a conversation. A fight into a hug. Why don’t we do a disarmament and replace all the weapons with more smiles? I feel better when I smile, I probably look better when I am smiling and others react better when I offer a sincere smile. Life is better when you are smiling even if the circumstances haven’t changed our physiology and brain mapping has. A smile is a placebo that works in all situations. Turn the corners of your mouth upward and let the twinkle in your eyes come out and you will see changes that wouldn’t have occurred otherwise.

You don’t need to feel giddy or even joyful to smile. The process of letting your face muscles make your brain muscles shift and tweak your emotions is remarkable. You can be sad and smile. Mad and smile. You can stand, sit, and…
